Mission:
State agency responsible for managing the rivers and their tributaries along the Pascagoula River Basin in Southeast Mississippi. Focus on three specific areas: flood control, water management, and recreation. Operates eight reservoirs to curtail flooding and support recreational needs in their areas.

Mission:
Cooperate with every local, State, and Federal organization that has to do with the conservation and development of the natural resources and the human resources in the economic development of the District by multiple county activities. Some of these activities include: Assist in the implementation of the U.S. Corps of Engineers'-authorized Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Project, sponsor the Water Resources Planning Act, flood control, and development of water-related resources to promote economic development within its very broad discretionary statutory authority.
