Mission: State agency responsible for managing the rivers and their tributaries along the Pascagoula River Basin in Southeast Mississippi. Focus on three specific areas: flood control, water management, and recreation. Operates eight reservoirs to curtail flooding and support recreational needs in their areas.

Recreational Facilities: Throughout the District, including the 9 parks: 579 campsites, 91 cabins, 1 25-room motel, 64 developed primitive sites, 3 waterslide facilities, 1 archery range, 1 disc golf course, 1 regulation volleyball court, 1 paved walking trail, 2 stocked catfish ponds, swimming areas, skiing areas, nature trails and open-air pavilions.

Geographic Area Served: 15 counties in Southeast MS: Jackson, George, Greene, Perry, Stone, Lamar, Forrest, Jones, Smith, Covington, Clarke, Wayne, Lauderdale, Newton, and Jasper counties.
